New York Here We Come!
The greatest lesson I have learned in the decades of ministry I have experienced is…the learning never ends! 2018 was a very difficult year for me. The “New Norm” of ministry has been very difficult for me to adapt to. In the Philippines I was on the go constantly, and our support was strong. This past year I have had to learn that at 62, I must move a bit slower, Rheumatoid Arthritis helps with that, but I have found myself quite frustrated. For a stubborn hard headed man learning to yield is difficult! Also, we have never experienced financial stress, but this year has been different. What I can say is that I have seen God provide and I have not worried about how we will make it! I praise my Maker that I do not rely on the government to meet our needs. I have friends that are feeling the pinch with this government shutdown, but the individuals that know God are responding very differently than those that do not have that relationship.
DD and I continue to meet with the folks that desire to begin a small group Church in VA. It is slow, but rewarding. I meet with 4 men each week in our local Church and I meet every Tuesday with 2 leaders in New York. They are leading a small group and are interested in becoming a CCF satellite. So DD and I are flying to NYC the 17thof January and I will share a lesson on why Small Group Church is so great, then I will also share a lesson on How to be a Facilitator. On that Sunday I will share a message on how to plan our New Year.
I asked all of you to join us in prayer for the Lord’s provision for this year. Amazingly we received half of what we needed! That truly is an answer to prayer. DD and I continue to seek the Lord for other work so we can continue the ministry. We would love to see God use us to begin a small group Church movement on the east coast like we experienced in Asia.
